How does Skin Needling work?
Skin Needling works by lightly puncturing the skin with tiny medical needles through a motorised head. At Massage Beautique we use Micro-DermaPen it’s so advanced, that the depth of the needles can be adjusted in order to tailor a treatment specific to your needs. It can even be used in those delicate and difficult areas such as around the lips, eyes and even on the nose. We love how instant the results are and we almost guarantee that you will love them too!
Micro-needling increases the production of collagen and other healing factors by causing trauma to the skin. In result its help with wrinkles, acne, scarring, even skin tone, large pores and stretch marks.
Why Skin needling?
This affordable treatment can be used to treat a wide variety of skin concerns; it tackles pitted scaring, surgical scars, un-even skin tones, enlarged pores, fine lines and wrinkles. It also stimulates your natural collagen leaving you with a smoother, rejuvenated and younger look after each treatment at a fraction of the cost compared to other technologies on the market.
With consistent treatments, you will notice a significant reduction in pores, reduction or complete removal of pitted scaring and an overall more even skin tone. On average, scars can improve about 10-15% after your first treatment.
Skin needling, does it hurt?
No. Our therapists use a medical grade numbing cream on the skin’s surface before treatment in order to make the experience as pleasant as possible. The sensation can be described as a fast, light vibration with slight flicks to the skin as the pen rolls over the area. In some areas like forehead you may still feel some pain but in general most of our clients describe this treatment as painless.

How much recovery time will I need?
Usually redness and inflammation on the skin settles within 24 hours of treatment and most clients will see their skin return to normal within 48-72 hours. To accelerate the healing process and also maximise the results of the skin needling treatment we recommend adding on an LED Light Therapy.
Risk and side effect after micro-needling ?
Generally micro-needling is considers to be safe and effective, but there are still some risks. The primary risk is skin irritation after the procedure. Skin may appear slight scratched and swollen within first 24hrs. Redness and maybe bruising but will gradually subside over the 24-48hours.
It’s very normal for your skin to break out after the treatment as the skin is expelling toxins from beneath the surface. You skin maybe dry, flaking and maybe peel but will gradually subside within 2-7 days. It’s important to follow the aftercare given to you by our therapists.
Micro-needling Aftercare;
Your skin might feel tender and redness. This will heal within 24-48 hours after treatment. Be gentle with your skin after treatment and DO NOT putting on makeup right after treatment and allow your skin to heal naturally.
For 7 days avoid harsh products, exfoliating creams & aggressive scrubbing as this may cause irritation ( AHA, BHA, Vitamin A & C products). Try to use only mineral based makeup for 48hrs after treatment.
Do not book laser or hair removal treatments on any part of your face for 14 days after treatment.
Avoid sun expose and always put sunscreen at least SPF 15, Avoid sweaty activity like exercise, sauna, streamer for 48 hrs after the treatment.
Use gentle cleanser in place of active products a very mild cleanser and barrier cream is recommended to keep your skin clean and soothe any resultant dry skin and flakiness. We can advise on the best kinds of cleansers, moisturisers and healing products to use to avoid irritation.
Apply cool face mask, you may experience some skin irritation following skin needling, therefore we recommend the use of a cooling face mask to reduce inflammation and redness, and to make your skin feel more comfortable.
